There are other tenderizers that cut through the meat. These tenderizers have blades that actually cut the tendons and blood vessels so that they no longer hold the meat together. The meat is held together by the softer muscle making it much easier to bite off a morsel.
Generally these tenderizers cost more money but they do produce a more acceptable serving of meat more quickly. It is also relatively easier to motorize these tenderizers which is really a lifesaver when you have a lot of meat to tenderize.
